Unschooling 3 growing boys involves A LOT of food! Preparing a succession of meals for often picky eaters can be challenging, not to mention frustrating. I will be adding ideas for healthy, nutrient dense, real food from our family kitchen, alongside some naughty treats. I am not paid to endorse any particular product (unless specifically stated), and only endorse something if I believe in it or I use it personally. All ramblings are my own view.

Gluten free fluffy apple & banana pancakes
I don't know about your family, but mine love pancakes! They are incredibly easy to knock up but feel like a bit of a treat in the morning. Beats cereal from a box hands down!
Having discovered this fantastic gluten free flour from Doves Farm (it's a mix of rice, potato, tapioca, maize, buckwheat), I use it in place of regular wheat flour, but both work equally well here.
I often up the protein quotient by adding a tablespoonful of Great Lakes Gelatin (Collagen Hydrolysate). I use this every single day in coffee, porridge, smoothies or whatever as it's very good for you and is undetectable to taste). Or you could just as easily add some Lucuma powder for a wonderful butterscotch flavour. It's packed with iron and minerals and no empty calories like sugar. You could add any other 'superfood' like Maca or Boabab for that matter.
